It seems that police in Spain have arrested an author of variants of the Symbian malware known as CommWarrior and Cabir.

Spanish Police arrested an unnamed 28 year old on charges that he created variants of the CommWarrior and Cabir mobile phone viruses. He stands accused of creating some 20 variants of the mobile phone viruses.

The Spanish police named the operation to catch the malware author 'Leslie' because of a comment the virus author had left in the virus source dedicating the malware to his fiancé Leslie.

It is unlikely that the man arrested is the original author of Cabir as when the source code to Cabir was released, it was done by a Brazilian who claimed that he wrote the first Symbian virus.
