Veteran security researcher Georgi Guninski is to retire from the public security scene.

In an email to the Full Disclosure mailing list Georgi cites his reasons as 'got old, got somewhat tired' for his retirement.

Georgi came to fame as it where for his full disclosure of security vulnerabilities in Microsoft Internet Explorer in the late 90s. The bulk of his research was into problems in the Microsoft product line, with some more recent work against other popular products. Over his career his work has been referenced by many others in books and papers, he has made a huge contribution to the security of systems worldwide.

His work can be found here at his website . Georgi's parting words to the future generation of hackers included the following which applies to everyone not just the newbies '*) there is no magic wand solution', which is certainly true and something to remember. But more for the newbies the following is something that should be remembered '*) fame is worthless'.

We at Virus.Org wish Georgi luck for the future..
