Microsoft Release Service Pack 2 for Vista and Windows 2008 Server
So Microsoft have released Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista and Windows 2008 Server, as usual the service pack is a rollup of various fixes and patches that have previously been released by Microsoft for their software.
This update includes all the security fixes and updates previously released by Microsoft for Vista and 2008 Server, it appears that Microsoft have not actually included any significant new functionality that improves the security posture of their operating systems in the same way as SP2 did for Windows XP.
Although this update is recommended, it is a major update and we'd recommend that a considered approach is take to the roll out of the patch to both client and server systems, just in case Microsoft end up breaking something major.
