The OpenBSD project today released a new version of the popular OpenSSH SSH protocol implementation. The release contains a number of bug fixes and several enhancements to the core OpenSSH tools, including the optional specification of an address to bind to in port forwarding connections and feature additions to ssh key management tools for managing known hosts files. Some features that are solely for the portable release includes BSM support for Solaris systems and improvements in integration with PAM modules.

There are no security fixes listed in the update notes for the release, so there is probably no immediate reason to panic and go an install the update. But as with anything any fixes could have been silently fixed, so it is worth looking at planning to update soon.

You can as always grab your copy of OpenSSH here.
