Just like the not so lucky MP3 player winners in Japan, Windows Video iPod owners seem to have also been afflicted by the 'extra' software mistakenly installed on their new media player. It seems Apple discovered that less than 1 percent of Video iPods available for purchase after September 12, 2006, left their manufacturer carrying the Windows Trojan Troj/Bdoor-DIJ in the form of the executable RavMonE.exe. The malware only affects Windows systems and it seems when the Video iPod was connected to the Windows PC the malware was executed. You can find out more about the piece of malware here and read more about the problem in Apple's announcement here . |
