A 27-year old Scotsman was arrested on Friday under suspicion of operating a network of Zombied systems to perpetrate Distributed Denial of Service attacks against Internet sites. The 27-year old man from the Elgin area of north east Scotland was arrested by police on Friday after an operation with the Scottish Police and the United States Secret Service. The man who has not been named is due to appear in court on Monday. Officers from the Scottish Drug Enforcement Agencys (SDEA) and National Hi-Tech Crime Unit carried out the raids as part of Operation Casper, which was tasked with investigating Denial of Service attacks.

Detective Chief Superintendent Stephen Ward from SDEA said "Operation Casper has involved the SDEA working closely with the US Secret Service and is an excellent example of how law enforcement agencies, working together, can impact on Internet-related crime."
