The German publisher Heise Zeitschriften Verlag has been the target of a series of Distribruted Denial of Service attacks since Monday this week. The publishing house is offering a reward for information leading to the capture of the perpetrators. Heise Zeitschriften Verlag is offering a 10,000 Euro reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the attacks. The attacks temporarily shut down Heise Onlines web offering.

The first attack apparently started on Monday at 10 am., the attack caused an overload in the load balancer responsible for distributing all traffic for www.heise.de site to the backend web servers running Linux and Solaris that support the online offering of Heise Zeitschriften Verlag.
