Clackmannanshire (that's in Scotland) Gets Truly Rooted PDF Print E-mail

As part of a mass defacement on Sunday (6th of February 2005) by Status-X Clackmannanshire County Council (www.clacks.gov.uk) suffered defacements of many sites, including their secure on-line council tax payment system. The sites affected included:

 images.clacksweb.org.uk
 imagebank.clacksweb.org.uk 
 gis.clacksweb.org.uk
 plod.clacksweb.org.uk
 forums.clacksweb.org.uk
 david.clacksweb.org.uk
 funding.clacksweb.org.uk
 faqs.clacksweb.org.uk
 surveyor.clacksweb.org.uk
 biodiversity.clacksweb.org.uk
 secure.clacksweb.org.uk (that’s ironic)
The worrying thing is that although as of 11:45am GMT they replaced the main page of www.clacksweb.org.uk the secure on-line payment system for Council Tax at https://secure.clacksweb.org.uk/ctax/ is still showing:

The IP address for the affected server appears to be owned by DesignServers (http://www.dsvr.co.uk/) and is based in TeleCity in Manchester. Anyway we would love to hear from Clackmannashire County Council or DesignServers regarding customer’s credit card details and if they remained secure during the intrusion.
